Winnie the Spoodle Goes Crazy

Hi Everyone

Here at Mt Lyford Horse Riding we not only have talented horses and guides but we have this little very clever dog called Winnie MacDonald Spoodle. We see her in this video lunging a bucket and going crazy. Take a look. It is so funny!!! Come and meet her at Otahuna and Mt Lyford when Kate is around.

Bye Kate and Winnie

Updated the Otahuna Website

Have a look here, after all this time we now have a guides page at Otahuna

This is my favourite picture of Abi. It says it all. You will see here that Abi is riding her horse, Bash, with one rein. Ken Faulkner said it will improve our riding, so we all did this for 6 months or so, and he was right of course. Just look at the ease of these two. You too can have that with your horse. Abi will show you how.

Abi is a totally committed horsewoman and our instructor for saddle club and Natural Horsemanship Club. Abi writes about herself:

Hi. My name is Abi. I have been working with Kate and the team (people and horses) since October 2004-and I love it!

I have ridden for 22 years mostly in the traditional way, and since 2003 I have discovered Natural Horsemanship. I would now never go back to traditional ways and wish I had learned the natural way earlier. I find it both very relaxing and freeing for both me and the horses. I understand my horses so much more and can do heaps more with them.

I look forward to meeting you when you come riding and teaching you all I know.

They all came home buzzing …

Kate read out a glowing report from Sue. Email it to me Kate and I’ll put it on the blog, if that is ok with Sue, and it was.

Thanks Sue!!

Hi Kate, I just wanted to say thank you very much for the wonderful experience Charlotte, Kate, Jo and Jessica had on Sunday. They all came home buzzing from the experience, with lots of praise for your Treks and having had a wonderful time. Charlotte was still telling me all about how to get a horse to walk backwards and how to pat them properly at 8pm last night!!

We have decided to create a goal sheet for her and she is going to work towards saving up for the 6 weeks saddle club with the overnight camp. Probably attending in the first term of next year, is there an extra cost for the overnight camp?

It will be a big goal for her to reach but she is determined to do it.

Abi and Deb were fantastic, please send them my thanks. I’m sure we’ll be back.

Kind regards

Sue
